Game Recap
WR Ben Skowronek had a quiet outing against the Louisville Cardinals last week, but he sure didn't disappoint on Saturday. QB Ian Book passed for three TDs and 312 yards on 30 attempts in addition to picking up 40 yards on the ground as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish beat the Pittsburgh Panthers 45-3. One of the most thrilling moments was Skowronek's 73-yard TD reception in the second quarter.
In addition to Book, Notre Dame got help from Book, who passed for three TDs and 312 yards on 30 attempts in addition to picking up 40 yards on the ground. That was the first 300+ yard effort for Book this season.
The victory for the Fighting Irish kept them a perfect 5-0. Pitt is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.
Notre Dame is on the road again next Saturday and plays against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at noon ET Oct. 31 at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field. Notre Dame will have the chance to boost their scoring average against a Georgia Tech defense that has allowed 41 points per game on average. Pitt will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against the Florida State Seminoles at noon ET in two weeks at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium.
