ORST vs. USU: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game

Through 3 Quarters

The Oregon State Beavers typically have all the answers at home, but the Utah State Aggies are posing a tough problem. After three quarters it's looking more and more like the Aggies' high-powered offense is just too much for Oregon State as Utah State lead 24-10. The teams have been moving the ball at a similar pace, but Utah State have outgained Oregon State by 45 yards.

Nobody has stood out from the pack for Utah State offensively yet, with RB Calvin Tyler Jr. being one of several leaders. He has rushed for one TD and 92 yards on 16 carries. Thompkins hadn't helped his team much against the San Diego State Aztecs two weeks ago, so this is a nice turnaround for him.

With three sacks, the Utah State defense has been a true menace for Oregon State's offensive line. We'll see if the Aggies can continue to haunt the offensive line.

Utah State @ Oregon State

Regular Season Records: Utah State 10-3; Oregon State 7-5

What to Know

The Utah State Aggies and the Oregon State Beavers have had some time off and are no doubt ready to hit the field. Bowl season is underway, and Utah State and Oregon State will compete for postseason bragging rights in the LA Bowl at SoFi Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday. The Aggies will be strutting in after a win while the Beavers will be stumbling in from a defeat.

Two weeks ago, Utah State's offense rose to the challenge against a San Diego State defense that boasted an average of only 17.25 points allowed. They blew past the San Diego State Aztecs 46-13. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Utah State had established a 29-6 advantage. They relied on the efforts of WR Brandon Bowling, who caught eight passes for two TDs and 154 yards, and QB Logan Bonner, who passed for four TDs and 318 yards on 42 attempts. One of the most thrilling moments was Bowling's 58-yard TD reception in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, Oregon State came up short against the Oregon Ducks three weeks ago, falling 38-29. A silver lining for the Beavers was the play of QB Chance Nolan, who passed for two TDs and 312 yards on 40 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.

The Aggies are expected to lose this next one by 6.5. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 5-2 against the spread when expected to lose.

A pair of numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Utah State is 224th worst in the nation in thrown interceptions, having thrown 13 on the season. The Beavers have had an even harder time: they are stumbling into the game with the 196th most thrown interceptions in the nation, having thrown 11 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
