The Oregon State Beavers were the heavy favorites here for a reason. After three quarters it's looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the Stanford Cardinal as the Beavers lead 28-7. This contest looks like it will end up very different from the tight three-point margin of Stanford's win over Oregon State in their previous head-to-head December of last year.
Oregon State has been riding high on the performance of QB Chance Nolan, who has passed for one TD and 219 yards on 21 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 31 yards. Nolan's 67-yard touchdown toss to WR Trevon Bradford in the third quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the evening.

What to Know
The Oregon State Beavers are 0-6 against the Stanford Cardinal since September of 2015, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Saturday. The Beavers and Stanford will face off in a Pac-12 battle at 5:30 p.m. ET at Reser Stadium. Oregon State is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
Oregon State fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Colorado Buffaloes last week but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 37-34. If the result catches you off guard, it should: Oregon State was far and away the favorite. A silver lining for them was the play of RB Trey Lowe, who punched in one rushing touchdown.
Meanwhile, the night started off rough for Stanford last Friday, and it ended that way, too. It's hard to picture a worse defeat than the 52-7 bruising that they suffered against the Utah Utes. The Cardinal were in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 38 to nothing. QB Jack West had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he threw one interception and fumbled the ball once with only 59 yards passing.
This next contest looks promising for the Beavers, who are favored by a full 12.5 points. They have failed bettors playing the spread in their past two games, so buyers beware.
The losses put Oregon State at 5-4 and Stanford at 3-6. A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Oregon State is stumbling into the game with the 205th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 17 on the season. The Cardinal have experienced some struggles of their own as they are 237th worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with 23 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
