Live scores, highlights and updates from the Ole Miss vs. Auburn football game
Game Recap
The Ole Miss Rebels had a rough go of it last November when they matched up with the Auburn Tigers and had to endure more of the same on Saturday. The Rebels took a 35-28 hit to the loss column. They haven't found any success against Auburn since Oct. 31 of 2015, this loss making it five in a row.
Auburn's success was spearheaded by the efforts of RB Tank Bigsby, who rushed for two TDs and 129 yards on 24 carries, and QB Bo Nix, who passed for one TD and 238 yards on 30 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 52 yards. That's the most rushing touchdowns Bigsby has had all year. More help came courtesy of LB Owen Pappoe, who was good for 12 tackles.
Ole Miss' defeat came about despite a quality game from QB Matt Corral, who passed for one TD and 154 yards on 27 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 88 yards. Corral's performance made up for a slower contest against the Arkansas Razorbacks last week. Corral's sharp performance set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
The loss dropped the Rebels' record to 1-4. The victory bumped Auburn's record up to 3-2.
Ole Miss will square off against the Vanderbilt Commodores at 4 p.m. ET next Saturday at Vanderbilt Stadium. These teams both have had a rocky road up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece. As for Auburn, they will face off against the LSU Tigers at 3:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium. LSU has averaged 44.67 points over the course of their past three games, so Auburn might be in for a challenge.
