Oklahoma State vs. Tulsa: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Oklahoma State vs. Tulsa football game
Game Recap
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane might not have won anyway, but with 113 yards lost due to penalties, they really shot themselves in the foot Saturday. It was a hard-fought game, but they had to settle for a 16-7 loss against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Hurricane of the 40-21 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head last September.
Oklahoma State's only touchdown came from RB Chuba Hubbard. On the other hand, one thorn in the Cowboys' side was the less-than-spectacular play of QB Ethan Bullock, who threw one interception with only 3.15 yards per passing attempt.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed ten. Kicker K Alex Hale delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
No one had a standout game offensively for Tulsa, but QB Zach Smith led the way with one touchdown. Smith's longest connection was to WR Keylon Stokes for 41 yards in the second quarter.
This was the first contest for both squads, making it a 0-1 start for Tulsa and a 1-0 start for Oklahoma State.
Tulsa will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to Centennial Bank Stadium at 3:30 p.m. ET next week. The Cowboys will stay at home against the West Virginia Mountaineers at 3:30 p.m. ET Sept. 26 at Boone Pickens Stadium. Like Oklahoma State, West Virginia is also coming into the matchup bolstered by a recent victory.
