Ohio vs. Kent State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Ohio vs. Kent State football game
Ohio will be playing the full four quarters on Saturday, but they're expected to have things wrapped up well before that. The Ohio Bobcats and the Kent State Golden Flashes will face off in a Mid American East battle at 3:30 p.m. ET at Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium. Ohio will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
After a disappointing ten points in their last game, Ohio made sure to put some points up on the board against Bowling Green last Saturday. Ohio claimed a resounding 38-7 victory over Bowling Green on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-0.
Kurtis Rourke looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 196 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Those three passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Rourke. Jacoby Jones kept the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Kent State might have drawn first blood against Miami of Ohio on Saturday, but it was Miami of Ohio who got the last laugh. Kent State suffered a grim 23-3 defeat to Miami of Ohio. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Golden Flashes had trouble moving the ball and finished the game with only 206 total yards. Kent State is winless (0-4) when they post such dismal yardage.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Ohio's win pushed their record up to 4-1, while Kent State's defeat dropped theirs down to 1-4.
As mentioned, Ohio is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 26 points. They might be worth a quick bet since they've covered the spread the last three times they've played Kent State.
Ohio came up short against Kent State in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 31-24. Will Ohio have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the matchup or check back on CBS Sports to find out.
