Ohio State vs. Western Kentucky: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Ohio State vs. Western Kentucky football game
The Ohio State Buckeyes will be playing at home against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Ohio Stadium. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Ohio State humbled Youngstown State with a 35-7 smackdown. With Ohio State ahead 28-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Ohio State's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but QB Kyle McCord led the charge by throwing for 258 yards and three touchdowns on 20 attempts. WR Emeka Egbuka did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 94 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Western Kentucky really took it to Houston Christian for a full 4 quarters, racking up a 52-22 victory at home. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Western Kentucky had established a 24 point advantage.
QB Austin Reed had a stellar game as he threw for 253 yards and four touchdowns on 33 attempts. It was a true group effort though, as the team also got help from WR Easton Messer, who scored a touchdown off of 116 receiving yards.
Looking ahead, the game looks promising for Ohio State, as the team is favored by a full 28 points. They finished last season with a 5-7 record against the spread.
Ohio State was favored to win every time they took the field last year (they finished 11-1), so it's no surprise they're starting 2023 the same way. Betting on them to win was the most profitable play last year, as bettors who put $100 on that outcome in every game walked away with $842.37. On the other hand, Western Kentucky was 0-3 as the underdog last season.
