1st Quarter Report
Ohio State is on the board, but we're still waiting on Minnesota to respond. Ohio State has jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead against Minnesota.
Ohio State entered the matchup having won nine straight and they're just three quarters away from another. Will they make it ten, or will Minnesota step up and spoil it? We'll know soon.
Preview
Ohio State will be playing the full four quarters on Saturday, but they're expected to have things wrapped up well before that. They will be playing at home against the Minnesota Golden Gophers at 4:00 p.m. ET at Ohio Stadium. Ohio State will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Ohio State can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 38-3 win over Michigan State at home.
Ohio State relied on the efforts of Kyle McCord, who threw for 335 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.4% of his passes, and Marvin Harrison Jr., who gained 168 total yards and three touchdowns. Harrison Jr. is on a roll when it comes to receiving touchdowns, as he's now hauled in two or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Minnesota started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Purdue. They took a hard 49-30 fall against the Boilermakers on Saturday. Minnesota didn't live up to their potential and found themselves falling short of the advantage oddsmakers thought they had coming into the game.
The losing side was boosted by Athan Kaliakmanis, who threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns. Dragan Kesich did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals and three extra points.
Ohio State has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 10-0 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.6 points per game. As for Minnesota, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
As mentioned, Ohio State is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 27.5 points. They might be worth a quick bet since they're sitting on a four game streak of covering the spread when playing as the favorites at home.
