The Northwestern Wildcats ran circles around the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday, and the extra yardage (537 yards vs. 208 yards) paid off. Northwestern took their game at home with ease, bagging a 43-3 win over Maryland. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wildcats had established a 37-3 advantage.
Northwestern QB Peyton Ramsey was slinging it as he passed for one TD and 212 yards on 30 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 47 yards. RB Isaiah Bowser also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
Northwestern's defense was a presence as well, as it collected three interceptions and one fumble. Those interceptions were spread across their defensive unit.
The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 0-0.
Northwestern will square off against the Iowa Hawkeyes at 1 p.m. ET next Saturday at Kinnick Stadium. These teams both might be coming in a bit winded after having run the length of the field multiple times in their most recent games. As for Maryland, they will go up against the Minnesota Golden Gophers at noon ET next Saturday at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. Minnesota is hoping for a better outcome this matchup after a 49-24 loss to the Michigan Wolverines.
