Northwestern vs. Maryland: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Northwestern vs. Maryland football game
The Maryland Terrapins will head out on the road to face off against the Northwestern Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Ryan Field. Northwestern does have the home-field advantage, but Maryland is expected to win by 14 points.
Maryland's game two weeks ago was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Illinois by a score of 27-24. It was the first time this season that Maryland let down their fans at home.
Despite the defeat, Maryland had strong showings from Taulia Tagovailoa, who threw for 266 yards and two touchdowns, and Roman Hemby, who gained 133 total yards.
Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Northwestern after they claimed the first score on Saturday, but it was Nebraska who ended up claiming the real prize. Northwestern took a 17-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Nebraska.
Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. All those points came courtesy of Jack Olsen: he added nine points with three field goals.
Maryland's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Northwestern, their loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-4.
Maryland was able to grind out a solid victory over Northwestern in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 31-24. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Northwestern's Evan Hull, who rushed for 119 yards, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for Maryland to walk away with another win? Check CBSSports.com after the match to find out.
