Northwestern vs. Indiana State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Northwestern vs. Indiana State football game
The Indiana State Sycamores have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will take on the Northwestern Wildcats at noon ET on Saturday at Ryan Field. Indiana State will be strutting in after a victory while Northwestern will be stumbling in from a loss.
Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Sycamores beat the Eastern Illinois Panthers 26-21 two weeks ago.
Meanwhile, the matchup between the Wildcats and the Michigan State Spartans last Friday was not a total blowout, but with Northwestern falling 38-21 at home, it was darn close to turning into one. Northwestern was down 28-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. Their defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of QB Hunter Johnson, who passed for three TDs and 283 yards on 43 attempts, and RB Evan Hull, who picked up 87 yards on the ground on nine carries.
Northwestern's defeat took them down to 0-1 while Indiana State's win pulled them up to 1-0. A win for Northwestern would reverse both their bad luck and Indiana State's good luck. We'll see if Northwestern manages to pull off that tough task or if the Sycamores keep their momentum going instead.
