Northern Illinois vs. Eastern Michigan Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game

Eastern Michigan has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Northern Illinois Huskies at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Eastern Michigan strolled past Kent State with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. That's two games straight that Eastern Michigan has won by exactly 14 points.

Eastern Michigan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samson Evans, who rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns. Tanner Knue did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Northern Illinois fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Ohio by a score of 23-13 on Saturday.

Northern Illinois' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rocky Lombardi led the charge by throwing for 172 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Gavin Williams, who rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Eastern Michigan's victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 4-3. As for Northern Illinois, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Not only did both teams in this Saturday's game win their last matches, they also took care of their bettors and covered the spread. As for their next game, Northern Illinois is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 12 points. Bettors picking them against the spread have some confidence (to put it mildly), as the team is sitting on a three-game streak of failing to cover when playing as the favorites at home.

Eastern Michigan took a serious blow against Northern Illinois in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 39-10. Can Eastern Michigan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
