North Carolina vs. Virginia Tech Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the North Carolina vs. Virginia Tech football game
Game Recap
The North Carolina Tar Heels lost to the Virginia Tech Hokies when the two teams previously met in October of last year, but they didn't allow Virginia Tech the same satisfaction this time around. The Tar Heels came out on top against Virginia Tech by a score of 56-45 two weeks ago. Yes, you read that final score correctly. And yes, they were playing football.
RB Michael Carter had a dynamite game for UNC; he rushed for two TDs and 214 yards on 17 carries. Carter put himself on the highlight reel with a 62-yard TD scramble in the fourth quarter. QB Sam Howell had a good game, too, finishing with three touchdowns.
The losing side was boosted by RB Khalil Herbert, who rushed for two TDs and 138 yards on 18 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the contest was Herbert's 52-yard touchdown rush in the third quarter.
The win for UNC kept them a perfect 3-0. Virginia Tech's loss pushed them down to 2-1.
The Tar Heels will take on the Florida State Seminoles at 7:30 p.m. ET last week at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium. FSU took a loss in their last matchup and are no doubt out to reverse North Carolina's good fortune. The Hokies will take on the Boston College Eagles at 8 p.m. ET last week at home.
