North Carolina vs. Minnesota: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the North Carolina vs. Minnesota football game
Minnesota haven't yet left their home-field this season, but they'll have to hit the road on Saturday. They will take on the North Carolina Tar Heels at 3:30 p.m. ET at Kenan Memorial Stadium. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Minnesota didn't have too much trouble with Eastern Michigan at home as they won 25-6.
Among those leading the charge was RB Darius Taylor, who rushed for 193 yards and punched in a rushing TD.
Meanwhile, it may have taken the full four quarters to finish the job, but North Carolina ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They snuck past App. State with a 40-34 win. Considering how many points were scored, both coaches might be spending a little more time focusing on defense before their next games.
RB Omarion Hampton was on fire, as he rushed for 234 yards and three touchdowns. Hampton's most impressive was a 68 yard score in the second quarter. The team also got some help courtesy of QB Drake Maye, who threw for 208 yards and rushed for another 57 and a score on the ground.
Minnesota will need to dig deep on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with a 7-5 record against the spread.
Even though the experts think Minnesota isn't going to win this one, the team was an even 1-1 as the underdog last season. Betting on them to win was the most profitable play last year, as bettors who put $100 on that outcome in every game walked away with $546.37. On the other hand, North Carolina will play as the favorite, and the team was 6-3 as such last season.
