The Western Carolina Catamounts will start their season against they. Kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. ET on Thursday at Carter-Finley Stadium.
Looking back to last season, Western Carolina finished on the right side of .500 (7-4), and they're hoping to kick off an even more successful campaign this year. Similarly, North Carolina State had a phenomenal run, finishing with a superb 9-3 record.
Western Carolina must know they're fighting an uphill battle given the 33.5-point spread they're up against. They finished last season with an even 5-5 record against the spread.
Even though the team is expected to lose, Western Carolina was a solid 2-1 as the underdog last season, so don't count them out.
