If the New Mexico State Aggies were expecting to get some payback for the 55-52 defeat against the New Mexico Lobos when they previously met in September of 2019, then they were left disappointed. New Mexico State fell to New Mexico 34-25. New Mexico State hasn't found any success against the Lobos since Sept. 9 of 2017, this loss making it three in a row.
New Mexico State's loss pushed them down to 0-3. New Mexico's victory brought them up to 2-0.
New Mexico State will square off against the South Carolina State Bulldogs at 8 p.m. ET next Saturday at Aggie Memorial Stadium. Like New Mexico State, South Carolina State is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 49-3 to the Clemson Tigers. As for New Mexico, they will go up against the Texas A&M Aggies at noon ET next Saturday at Kyle Field. Like New Mexico, A&M is also coming into the contest bolstered by a recent win.
