New Mexico vs. Boise State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Friday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the New Mexico vs. Boise State football game
The New Mexico Lobos haven't won a matchup against the Boise State Broncos since Nov. 14 of 2015, but they'll be looking to end the drought on Friday. New Mexico and Boise State will face off in a Mountain West battle at 9 p.m. ET at University Stadium. The Lobos are out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
New Mexico got themselves on the board against the Maine Black Bears this past Saturday, but Maine never followed suit. New Mexico put a hurting on the Black Bears at home to the tune of 41 to nothing. With New Mexico ahead 21 to nothing at the half, the contest was all but over already. Their success was spearheaded by the efforts of WR Luke Wysong, who punched in one rushing touchdown in addition to snatching one receiving TD, and RB Sherod White, who punched in two rushing touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the game between the Broncos and the Oregon State Beavers this past Saturday was not a total blowout, but with Boise State falling 34-17 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one. A silver lining for Boise State was the play of QB Taylen Green, who accumulated 155 passing yards in addition to rushing for two TDs and 102 yards. One of the most memorable plays of the game was Green's 74-yard touchdown rush up the middle in the third quarter.
New Mexico's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Boise State's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. Giving up five turnovers, Boise State had had trouble holding onto the ball. We'll see if the Lobos can exploit that vulnerability.
