Live scores, highlights and updates from the New Mexico State vs. Sam Houston football game
The Sam Houston Bearkats will head out on the road to face off against the New Mexico State Aggies at 9:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Aggie Memorial Stadium. Sam Houston is still on the hunt for that elusive first W.
Last Thursday, Sam Houston was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 21-16 to Liberty.
Sam Houston's defeat came about despite a quality game from Keegan Shoemaker, who threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns. Al'vonte Woodard also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, New Mexico State's game on Wednesday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They took down FIU 34-17.
Diego Pavia was his usual excellent self, throwing for 256 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 46 yards. Monte Watkins was another key contributor, rushing for 89 yards on only five carries.
New Mexico State's win bumped their season record to 3-3 while Sam Houston's loss dropped theirs to 0-5.
While only New Mexico State took care of their fans the last time they played, both teams pleased bettors by covering the spread. Looking ahead, they are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by four points. They might be worth a quick bet since they're covered the spread the last three times they've played.
