Nebraska vs. Buffalo: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Nebraska vs. Buffalo football game
The Nebraska Cornhuskers will play host again and welcome the Buffalo Bulls to Tom Osborne Field at Memorial Stadium, where kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. After both teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune.
You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Nebraska's strategy against the Fordham Rams last week. The Cornhuskers put a hurting on Fordham at home to the tune of 52-7. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Nebraska had established a 38-7 advantage. Nebraska QB Adrian Martinez was slinging it as he passed for one TD and 232 yards on 32 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 111 yards.
Meanwhile, Buffalo turned the game against the Wagner Seahawks into a track meet and took the gold after outgaining them 566 yards to 102. Last Thursday, Buffalo really took it to Wagner for a full four quarters, racking up a 69-7 win at home. With the Bulls ahead 38 to nothing at the half, the matchup was all but over already. Their RB Kevin Marks Jr. looked sharp as he punched in two rushing touchdowns.
Buffalo's defense was a presence as well, as it got past Wagner's offensive line to sack the quarterback five times for a total loss of 34 yards. Leading the way was DE Taylor Riggins and his two sacks. Those were the first sacks for Riggins.
Their wins bumped Nebraska to 1-1 and Buffalo to 1-0. With both the Cornhuskers and the Bulls swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
