NC State vs. Syracuse Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the NC State vs. Syracuse football game
The NC State Wolfpack are 5-1 against the Syracuse Orange since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Wolfpack and 'Cuse will face off in an ACC battle at 4 p.m. ET at Carter-Finley Stadium. NC State is out to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
NC State was close but no cigar last week as they fell 45-42 to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Despite the loss, NC State had strong showings from WR Emeka Emezie, who caught ten passes for two TDs and 133 yards, and QB Devin Leary, who passed for four TDs and 408 yards on 59 attempts.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 41-3, which was the final score in Syracuse's tilt against the Louisville Cardinals last week. 'Cuse was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 35-3. QB Garrett Shrader had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he fumbled the ball once with only 46 yards passing.
The Wolfpack are the favorite in this one, with an expected 11.5-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread last week might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
NC State is now 7-3 while the Orange sit at 5-5. A pair of defensive stats to keep an eye on: NC State is stumbling into the contest with the 199th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 18 on the season. 'Cuses have had an even harder time: they are 184th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 16 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
