Game Recap
After a string of eight wins, Liberty's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They had victory within their grasp but couldn't quite capture it as the team lost 15-14 to the NC State Wolfpack. That's the fewest points Liberty has scored all year.
RB Zonovan Knight was the offensive standout of the game for NC State, punching in two rushing touchdowns. On the other hand, one thorn in the Wolfpack's side was the less-than-spectacular play of QB Bailey Hockman, who threw one interception with only 154 yards passing.
No one had a standout game offensively for Liberty, but they got scores from WR Noah Frith and TE Jerome Jackson.
The Flames' defeat pushed them down to 8-1. The victory makes it two in a row for NC State and bumps their record up to 6-3.
Liberty will have some time to rest before their next contest, which is against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at noon ET in two weeks at Brooks Stadium. As for NC State, they will face off against the Syracuse Orange at noon ET next Saturday at Carrier Dome. 'Cuse is limping into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
