Missouri vs. Florida updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Missouri vs. Florida football game
3rd Quarter Report
Only one more quarter stands between Missouri and the victory they were favored to collect coming into this evening. After three quarters, neither team has the match in the bag, but Missouri leads 23-21 over Florida.
Missouri came into the match with some extra motivation after the defeat they were dealt the last time these two teams faced off. We'll see if they're able to flip the script or if it'll just be more of the same.
Preview
The Florida Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Missouri Tigers at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Memorial Stadium at Faurot Field. Florida is limping into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Florida, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-35 loss to LSU. Florida has not had much luck with LSU recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Trevor Etienne, who rushed for 99 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Mertz, who threw for 311 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Missouri can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They put a hurting on Tennessee at home to the tune of 36-7.
Missouri can attribute much of their success to Brady Cook, who threw for 275 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes, and Cody Schrader, who gained 321 total yards and a touchdown. Schrader hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Harrison Mevis did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals and three extra points.
LSU's victory bumped their season record to 7-3 while Florida's defeat dropped theirs to 5-5.
Florida is hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. Bettors picking them against the spread have some confidence (to put it mildly), as the team is sitting on a three-game streak of failing to cover when playing as the underdogs on the road.
Florida beat Missouri 24-17 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Missouri's Nathaniel Peat, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Florida still be able to contain him? Check CBSSports.com after the match to find out.
