Mississippi State vs. NC State updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Mississippi State vs. NC State football game
Game Recap
If the NC State Wolfpack were expecting to get some payback for the 51-28 defeat against the Mississippi State Bulldogs when they previously met in December of 2015, then they were left disappointed. The Wolfpack took a 24-10 hit to the loss column. Their low-scoring loss was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the matchup before.
MSU QB Will Rogers was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 294 yards on 49 attempts. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget WR Lideatrick Griffin, who went all the way with a kickoff return for touchdown in the first quarter?
No one had a standout game offensively for NC State, but they got one touchdown from WR Thayer Thomas.
The loss dropped NC State back to even at 1-1. MSU's victory brought them up to 2-0.
NC State will square off against the Furman Paladins at 7:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium. As for MSU, they will go up against the Memphis Tigers at 4 p.m. ET next Saturday at Liberty Bowl Memorial. Memphis is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 55-50 win over the Arkansas State Red Wolves on Saturday.
