Mississippi State vs. Kentucky: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Mississippi State vs. Kentucky football game
Mississippi State has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Kentucky Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. Mississippi State is expected to lose this one by four points, so we'll see if that gives them a bit of motivation.
Last Saturday, Mississippi State ended up a good deal behind Auburn and lost 27-13. The over/under was set at 40 points, so nice work oddsmakers; you were right on the money.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mike Wright, who threw for 161 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Kentucky's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 33-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tennessee.
Kentucky's loss came about despite a quality game from Devin Leary, who threw for 372 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.8% of his passes. Dane Key was another key contributor, picking up 113 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The losses dropped Mississippi State to 4-4 and Kentucky to 5-3.
In addition to losing their last games, the pair failed to cover the spread. Going forward, Kentucky is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by four points. For those looking to play the spread, watch out: Mississippi State is playing at home, but their 1-4 record against the spread as such isn't exactly encouraging.
Mississippi State came up short against Kentucky in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 27-17. Thankfully for Mississippi State, Chris Rodriguez Jr. (who rushed for 197 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
