Mississippi State vs. Auburn Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Mississippi State vs. Auburn football game
Game Recap
The Mississippi State Bulldogs might not have won anyway, but with 100 yards lost due to penalties, they really shot themselves in the foot on Saturday. They took a 24-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Auburn Tigers. If the Bulldogs were hoping to take revenge for the 56-23 loss against Auburn when the teams met last September, then they were left disappointed.
RB Tank Bigsby was the offensive standout of the game for Auburn, picking up 192 yards on the ground on 26 carries. QB Bo Nix had a good game, too, finishing with two touchdowns.
Auburn's defense was a presence as well, as it embarrassed MSU's offensive line to sack QB Will Rogers six times total. Leading the way was LB Derick Hall and his two sacks. Hall now has four sacks through ten games.
No one had a standout game offensively for MSU, but WR Austin Williams led the way with one touchdown.
The defeat dropped the Bulldogs' record to 2-7. The win improved Auburn's record to 6-4.
MSU will be hunkering down at home again for their contest against the Missouri Tigers at 3:30 p.m. ET Dec. 19 at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field. MSU is 1-5 after losses this year, Mizzou 2-1. As for Auburn, their regular season is over.
