The Minnesota Golden Gophers won the last time they faced the Purdue Boilermakers, and things went their way on Friday, too. The Golden Gophers skirted past Purdue 34-31. The success represented a nice turnaround for Minnesota, who in their last game suffered a tough 35-7 loss.
Minnesota's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 21 points in the first half. Purdue countered with 10 points. Minnesota almost let the matchup get away from them in the second half, but they had just enough oomph to take it.
RB Mohamed Ibrahim was the offensive standout of the game for the Golden Gophers, rushing for three TDs and 102 yards on 25 carries. WR Chris Autman-Bell also helped out with an impressive 129 receiving yards in the victory.
QB Jack Plummer put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for three TDs and 367 yards on 42 attempts.
Minnesota's win brought them up to 2-3. The loss dropped the Boilermakers back to even at 2-2.
The Golden Gophers will take on the Wisconsin Badgers at 2 p.m. ET next week at Camp Randall Stadium. As for Purdue, they will go up against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at 4 p.m. ET next week at Ross-Ade Stadium.
