Middle Tenn. vs. Old Dominion updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Middle Tenn. vs. Old Dominion football game
The Middle Tenn. Blue Raiders and the Old Dominion Monarchs are set to square off in a Conference USA matchup at 3:30 p.m. ET Nov. 20 at Johnny (Red) Floyd Stadium. The Blue Raiders are out to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
When you finish with 259 more yards than your opponent like Middle Tenn. did last week, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 50-10 victory over the FIU Panthers. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-3. Among those leading the charge for Middle Tenn. was RB Martell Pettaway, who punched in one rushing touchdown. That touchdown -- a 57-yard rush in the third quarter -- was one of the highlights of the matchup.
Middle Tenn.'s defense was a presence as well, as it collected two interceptions and two fumbles. The picks came courtesy of S Reed Blankenship and CB Quincy Riley.
Meanwhile, the Florida Atlantic Owls typically have all the answers at home, but last week Old Dominion proved too difficult a challenge. Old Dominion beat the Owls 30-16. It was another big night for the Monarchs' RB Blake Watson, who rushed for one TD and 164 yards on 23 carries.
Special teams collected ten points for Old Dominion. K Nick Rice delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
The Blue Raiders are the favorite in this one, with an expected 4-point margin of victory. They have been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (4-0), so they might be worth a quick bet.
Middle Tenn. is now 5-5 while Old Dominion sits at 4-6. A couple stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Middle Tenn. is 221st worst in the nation in thrown interceptions, having thrown 11 on the season. The Monarchs are completely their equal: they are stumbling into the game with the 221st most thrown interceptions in the nation, having thrown 11 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
