Michigan State vs. Washington: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Michigan State vs. Washington football game
Washington haven't yet left their home-field this season, but they'll have to hit the road on Saturday. They will challenge the Michigan State Spartans at 5:00 p.m. ET at Spartan Stadium. Washington is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
A well-balanced attack led Washington over Tulsa in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Washington blew Tulsa out of the water with a 43-10 final score. Washington pushed the score to 36-3 by the end of the third, a deficit Tulsa had no chance of recovering from.
QB Michael Penix Jr. looked spectacular while leading his team to the win, throwing for 409 yards and three touchdowns on 38 attempts. The team also got some help courtesy of WR Rome Odunze, who posted 107 yards for a touchdown plus a rushing score.
Meanwhile, Michigan State really took it to Richmond for a full 4 quarters, racking up a 45-14 win at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Michigan State.
Michigan State relied on the efforts of RB Nathan Carter, who rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns, and QB Noah Kim, who threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns on 22 attempts. Carter's most impressive was a 44 yard score in the third quarter. WR Tre Mosley also helped out by posting a receiving touchdown.
Looking ahead, Washington is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 16 points. They finished last season with a 7-5 record against the spread.
Washington was able to grind out a solid win over Michigan State in their previous matchup last September, winning 39-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Washington since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
