Michigan State vs. Maryland updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Michigan State vs. Maryland football game
Game Recap
The Maryland Terrapins weren't able to make up for their defeat to the Michigan State Spartans from their previous meeting in November of 2019. The Terrapins took a 40-21 bruising from MSU on Saturday. Maryland hasn't found any success against the Spartans since Oct. 22 of 2016, this loss making it four in a row.
It was another big night for MSU's RB Kenneth Walker III, who rushed for two TDs and 143 yards on 30 carries. WR Jayden Reed also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
TE Chigoziem Okonkwo put forth a good effort for the losing side as he caught eight passes for two TDs and 112 yards.
The loss dropped Maryland back to even at 5-5. MSU's win brought them up to 9-1.
The Terrapins will take on the Michigan Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at home. Maryland will need a sterling offensive performance if they want to penetrate an unbending defense that has allowed an average of only 16.1 points per game. As for the Spartans, they will face off against the Ohio State Buckeyes at noon ET next Saturday at Ohio Stadium. Keep an eye on the score for this one: OSU also posted a lofty point total in their previous matchup, a 59-31 victory over the Purdue Boilermakers.
