Maryland vs. West Virginia: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game

The West Virginia Mountaineers and the Maryland Terrapins will face off at 3:30 p.m. ET Sept. 4 at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium to kick off their 2021 seasons. West Virginia was on the positive side of .500 (6-4) last season and is hoping to kick off an even more successful year. Meanwhile, Maryland struggled last year, ending up 2-3.

A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: The Mountaineers were the best in the nation in passing yards allowed per game, finishing the 2020 season giving up only 159.6 on average. As for Maryland, they ranked ninth in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, closing the season allowing only six overall.

The point spread is more or less neutral, so fans should expect a close game. We'll see if the game is as close as the oddsmakers expect or if one of these teams has a surprise blowout in them.
