Game Recap
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns earned some postseason bragging rights after a successful outing on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 36-21 victory over the Marshall Thundering Herd.
Louisiana's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 16 first-half points. Marshall was right behind to make the score 16-14 heading into the break. The offense for the Ragin' Cajuns continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 20 points to put the game away.
Louisiana can attribute much of their success to RB Emani Bailey, who punched in two rushing touchdowns, and QB Levi Lewis, who passed for one TD and 270 yards on 31 attempts in addition to picking up 74 yards on the ground. That's the most rushing touchdowns Bailey has had all year. Louisiana also got help from WR Michael Jefferson, who showed off his sure hands for 108 receiving yards in the win.
Special teams collected 12 points for Louisiana. K Nate Snyder delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
A silver lining for the Thundering Herd was the play of RB Rasheen Ali, who rushed for three TDs and 160 yards on 20 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the game was Ali's 63-yard touchdown rush in the first quarter. With that, the West Division playoffs come to an end.
