Marshall vs. Florida Atlantic Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Marshall vs. Florida Atlantic football game
Game Recap
The Florida Atlantic Owls weren't able to make up for their loss to the Marshall Thundering Herd from their previous meeting last October. The Owls took a 20-9 hit to the loss column. They haven't found any success against Marshall since Nov. 3 of 2017, this defeat making it three in a row.
Among those leading the charge for Marshall was RB Brenden Knox, who picked up 101 yards on the ground on 25 carries in addition to snatching one receiving TD. One of the most thrilling moments was Knox's 58-yard TD reception in the first quarter. QB Grant Wells didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet, but finished with two touchdowns.
RB Malcolm Davidson hadn't helped the Owls' cause all that much against the Charlotte 49ers three weeks ago, but the same can't be said for this game. Florida Atlantic's defeat came about despite a quality game from Davidson, who punched in one rushing touchdown.
The loss dropped Florida Atlantic back to even at 1-1. Marshall's win brought them up to 5-0.
Florida Atlantic will square off against the UTSA Roadrunners at noon ET next Saturday at FAU Stadium. As for the Thundering Herd, they will face off against the FIU Panthers at 7 p.m. ET next Friday at Riccardo Silva Stadium. Marshall has yet to lose; FIU, on the other hand, is desperate for their first victory.
