Louisville vs. Virginia: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Louisville vs. Virginia football game
The Louisville Cardinals will be returning home after a two-game road trip. U of L and the Virginia Cavaliers will face off in an ACC battle at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday at Cardinal Stadium. Virginia will be strutting in after a win while the Cardinals will be stumbling in from a loss.
It was close but no cigar for U of L as they fell 37-34 to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons last week. Louisville's defeat came about despite a quality game from QB Malik Cunningham, who passed for two TDs and 332 yards on 25 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 46 yards. Near the top of the highlight reel was Cunningham's 75-yard TD bomb to WR Tyler Harrell in the fourth quarter.
Speaking of close games: Virginia came out on top in a nail-biter against the Miami (FL) Hurricanes last Thursday, sneaking past 30-28. No one had a standout game offensively for Virginia, but they got scores from RB Wayne Taulapapa, RB Mike Hollins, and WR Dontayvion Wicks.
This next matchup is expected to be close, with the Cardinals going off at just a 2.5-point favorite. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a three-game streak of ATS wins.
U of L and the Cavaliers now sit at an identical 3-2. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: U of L is 210th worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with nine on the season. Virginia has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 221st most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up ten on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
