Game Recap
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns won the last time they met up with the Georgia Southern Eagles, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. On Saturday, the Ragin' Cajuns narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Georgia Southern 20-18. The overall outcome was to be expected, but the Eagles made it more of a game than the oddsmakers had predicted.
No one had a standout game offensively for Louisiana, but they got scores from RB Trey Ragas and WR Errol Rogers Jr.. We would be remiss not to mention K Nate Snyder, too, whose 53-yard field goal in the fourth quarter was the deciding factor in the contest.
Georgia Southern's loss came about despite a quality game from RB J.D. King, who rushed for one TD and 100 yards on 24 carries.
The victory for Louisiana kept them a perfect 3-0. The loss dropped Georgia Southern back to even at 1-1.
Louisiana will square off against the Appalachian State Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. ET in two weeks at Kidd Brewer Stadium. Like the Ragin' Cajuns, Appalachian State is also coming into the matchup bolstered by a recent win. The Eagles are on the road again next Saturday and play against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks at 7 p.m. ET Oct. 3 at JPS Field at James L. Malone Stadium. Louisiana-Monroe staggers in desperate for their first win of the season.
