Live scores, highlights and updates from the Louisiana-Monroe vs. Arkansas State football game
Game Recap
The best player on the turf between the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and the Arkansas State Red Wolves on Saturday ended up on the losing team. Although he couldn't prevent a 27-24 loss to Arkansas State, WR Malik Jackson rushed for two TDs and 166 yards on 22 carries. Jackson put himself on the highlight reel with a 75-yard TD scramble in the third quarter. Jackson's sharp performance set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
The Red Wolves can attribute much of their success to WR Te'Vailance Hunt, who caught eight passes for two TDs and 96 yards. QB Layne Hatcher had a good game, too, finishing with two touchdowns.
The defeat dropped Louisiana-Monroe's record to 4-6. The win improved Arkansas State's record to 2-8.
Louisiana-Monroe will take on the LSU Tigers at 9 p.m. ET next Saturday at Tiger Stadium. Arkansas State will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to Center Parc Stadium at 2 p.m. ET next Saturday. The Georgia State Panthers also got away with a close one in their previous matchup.
