Kentucky vs. South Carolina Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kentucky vs. South Carolina football game
The South Carolina Gamecocks have enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they must head out on the road. USC and the Kentucky Wildcats will face off in an SEC battle at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Kroger Field. The Gamecocks have some work to do to even out the 1-6 series between these two since September of 2015, but a win here would be a good start.
You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely USC's strategy against the South Carolina State Bulldogs last Thursday. USC put a hurting on South Carolina State at home to the tune of 50-10. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 22 to nothing. USC's RB MarShawn Lloyd looked sharp as he punched in one rushing touchdown in addition to snatching one receiving TD.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but UK had to settle for a 22-19 defeat against the Ole Miss Rebels last week. This is the Wildcats' third heartbreak in a row against Ole Miss following a 42-41 loss in October of 2020. One thing holding UK back was the mediocre play of QB Will Levis, who did not have his best game: despite two touchdowns, he fumbled the ball twice.
USC is expected to lose this next one by 6. Those burned by picking them against the spread last week might want to keep in mind that the squad has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
USC's victory brought them up to 3-2 while UK's defeat pulled them down to 4-1. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: USC comes into the game boasting the 23rd fewest passing yards allowed per game in the nation at 180. As for the Wildcats, they enter the game with only two passing touchdowns allowed, good for third best in the nation.
