Kentucky vs. LSU: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kentucky vs. LSU football game
Game Recap
The Kentucky Wildcats made easy work of the LSU Tigers on Saturday and carried off a 42-21 win. The oddsmakers were on UK's side, but they didn't give the team enough credit as the margin was unexpectedly wide.
QB Will Levis had a stellar game for the Wildcats as he passed for three TDs and 145 yards on 17 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 75 yards. That's the most rushing touchdowns Levis has had all year. RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. was in the mix, too, providing UK with two touchdowns.
UK's defense was a presence as well, as it got past LSU's offensive line to sack QB Max Johnson four times for a total loss of 28 yards. Leading the way was DT Octavious Oxendine and his two sacks. Those were the first sacks for Oxendine through six games.
RB Tyrion Davis-Price had only a few touches last week, but he got the ball a lot more this time and made it count. Davis-Price put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for two TDs and 147 yards on 22 carries. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Davis-Price has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season. Davis-Price's sharp performance also set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
UK's victory ended a three-game game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-0. The loss dropped the Tigers back to even at 3-3.
The Wildcats will take on the Georgia Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Sanford Stadium. Both of those teams have allowed few points on average (UK 17.5, UGA 5.5), so any points scored will be well earned. As for LSU, they will go up against the Florida Gators at noon ET next Saturday at Tiger Stadium. LSU will need a sterling offensive performance if they want to penetrate an unbending defense that has allowed an average of only 16.5 points per game.
