Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kentucky vs. Clemson football game
3rd Quarter Report
Kentucky is on the road but looking no worse for wear. They have a bit of a cushion as they currently lead Clemson 21-10.
If Kentucky keeps playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 8-5 in no time. On the other hand, Clemson will have to make due with an 8-5 record unless they turn things around (and fast).
Preview
The Clemson Tigers and the Kentucky Wildcats will square off in the Gator Bowl at EverBank Stadium 12:00 p.m. ET on Friday. Kentucky does have the home-field advantage, but Clemson is expected to win by five points.
Clemson waltzed into their game back in November with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against South Carolina by a score of 16-7.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed ten in total. All those points came courtesy of Jonathan Weitz: he added nine points with three field goals, and another on an extra-point kick. His longest was a 50-yard strike in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, Kentucky has more to be thankful for after their matchup against Louisville back in November. Kentucky walked away with a 38-31 victory over Louisville.
Ray Davis was the offensive standout of the contest as he picked up 51 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Devin Leary, who threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns.
Clemson has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Kentucky, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Not only did both teams in this Friday's match win their last matches, they also took care of their bettors and covered the spread. Going forward, Kentucky is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by five points. This contest will be their fourth straight as the underdogs (so far over this stretch they are 1-2 against the spread).
