Kent State vs. VMI Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kent State vs. VMI football game
The VMI Keydets will take on the Kent State Golden Flashes at 11:30 a.m. ET on Saturday at Dix Stadium. VMI will be strutting in after a win while Kent State will be stumbling in from a defeat.
The Keydets entered their matchup last week as the heavy favorite, and they fully lived up to expectations. They were the clear victors by a 45-24 margin over the Davidson Wildcats. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point VMI had established a 31-10 advantage.
Meanwhile, a victory for Kent State just wasn't in the stars last week as the squad never even grasped a temporary lead. They have to be aching after a bruising 41-10 loss to the Texas A&M Aggies. Kent State was down 27-3 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. One thing holding the Golden Flashes back was the mediocre play of QB Dustin Crum, who did not have his best game: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he threw two interceptions with only 89 yards passing.
Kent State's defense was a force to be reckoned with, as it collected four interceptions and one fumble. S Elvis Hines picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
Kent State's loss took them down to 0-1 while VMI's win pulled them up to 1-0. We'll see if Kent State can steal VMI's luck or if VMI records another win instead.
