Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kansas vs. South Dakota football game
Game Recap
The Kansas Jayhawks came out on top in a nail-biter against the South Dakota Coyotes on Friday, sneaking past 17-14. The overall outcome was to be expected, but South Dakota made it more of a matchup than the oddsmakers had predicted.
Kansas QB Jason Bean did work as he passed for two TDs and 163 yards on 26 attempts in addition to picking up 53 yards on the ground. WR Lawrence Arnold was in the mix, too, providing the Jayhawks with two touchdowns.
South Dakota's loss came about despite a quality game from RB Travis Theis, who punched in one rushing touchdown.
The game pushed South Dakota down to 0-1 and pulled Kansas up to the reverse at 1-0.
Kansas will take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at 7:30 p.m. ET next Friday at Brooks Stadium. Like Kansas, Coastal Carolina is also coming into the contest bolstered by a recent win. The Coyotes will be playing at home against the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks at 2 p.m. ET next week. Like South Dakota, Northern Arizona is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 42-16 to the Sam Houston Bearkats.
