Kansas vs. Kansas State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday

3rd Quarter Report

Kansas already has more points against Kansas State than they managed in total against Texas Tech last Saturday. A win is still up for grabs for either team after three quarters, but Kansas is up 27-24 over Kansas State. This matchup is far closer than the pair's previous matchup, which was decided by 20 points.

Kansas came into the matchup with some extra motivation after the loss they were dealt the last time these two teams faced off. We'll see if they're able to flip the script or if it'll just be more of the same.

Preview

Kansas State is 8-0 against Kansas since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Kansas State Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Kansas Jayhawks at 7:00 p.m. ET at Kivisto Field at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. Kansas took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Kansas State, who comes in off a win.

Kansas State put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They steamrolled past Baylor 59-25 at home. The margin was wide but not a surprise since the spread was 21 in Kansas State's favor.

Kansas State's success was spearheaded by the efforts of DJ Giddens, who gained 134 total yards and a touchdown, and Will Howard, who threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns. Keenan Garber got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Kansas had to settle for a 16-13 loss against Texas Tech on Saturday. It was the first time this season that Kansas let down their fans at home.

The losing side was boosted by Devin Neal, who rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Neal was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.

Kansas State has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 7-3 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.6 points per game. As for Kansas, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Kansas is hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. Anyone thinking of taking them against the spread should keep this in mind: the team hasn't covered the last four times they've played Kansas State.

Everything went Kansas State's way against Kansas in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as Kansas State made off with a 47-27 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kansas State since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
