Game Recap
When you finish with 312 more yards than your opponent like the Iowa State Cyclones did Saturday, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They made easy work of the Kansas Jayhawks and carried off a 52-22 victory. That 30-point margin sets a new team best for the Cyclones on the season.
It was another big night for Iowa State's RB Breece Hall, who rushed for two TDs and 185 yards on 21 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the contest was Hall's 58-yard touchdown rush in the fourth quarter. QB Brock Purdy had a good game, too, finishing with three touchdowns.
Iowa State's defense was a presence as well, as it got past the Jayhawks' offensive line to sack the QB five times. It was a group effort with four picking up 1.5 sacks apiece.
No one had a standout game offensively for Kansas, but QB Jalon Daniels led the way with one touchdown.
The win improved Iowa State's record to 4-2. Kansas still hasn't won a game and fell to 0-6.
The Cyclones will look to defend their home turf next week against the Baylor Bears at 7 p.m. ET. As for the Jayhawks, they will face off against the Oklahoma Sooners at 3:30 p.m. ET next week at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
