Preview

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Burgess-Snow Field at JSU Stadium. Louisiana Tech is limping into the match on a five-game losing streak.

The point spread may have favored Louisiana Tech last Saturday, but the final result did not. They received a tough blow as they fell 42-27 to Sam Houston. Despite 88 more yards than Sam Houston, Louisiana Tech couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Nobody from Louisiana Tech had a standout game, but they got scores from Keith Willis Jr., Cyrus Allen, and Kyle Maxwell.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville State came up short against South Carolina last Saturday and fell 38-28.

Despite their defeat, Jacksonville State saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Zion Webb, who threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Perry Carter, who picked up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Louisiana Tech bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Jacksonville State, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.

Not only did both teams lose their last games, but neither team managed to cover the spread. As for their next game, Jacksonville State is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 8.5 points. Those brave souls putting their money on Louisiana Tech against the spread have faith in an upset since their 2-3 ATS can't hold a candle to Jacksonville State's 7-2-1.
