A win for Coastal Carolina would push their record over .500, and after three quarters of play they've put themselves in a good position to make it happen. They have a bit of a cushion as they currently lead Jacksonville State 48-13.
If Coastal Carolina keeps playing like this they'll be starting off their season with a 'W'. On the other hand, Jacksonville State will be starting their season off on the wrong foot unless they turn things around (and fast).

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will kick their season off against they on Thursday. Kickoff is scheduled at 8:00 p.m. ET at AmFirst Stadium.
Looking back to last season, Coastal Carolina finished on the right side of .500 (7-5), and they're hoping to kick off an even more successful campaign this year. Similarly, Jacksonville State had a stellar season and finished 8-4.
Coastal Carolina strolled past Jacksonville State in their previous matchup back in September of 2023 by a score of 30-16. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coastal Carolina since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
