The Ole Miss Rebels should come into this matchup well-rested after a week off from action. Bowl season is underway, and they and the Indiana Hoosiers will compete for postseason bragging rights in the Outback Bowl at Raymond James Stadium at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. Ole Miss needs to shore up a defense that is allowing 40.33 points per contest.
The Rebels were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap two weeks ago as they fell 53-48 to the LSU Tigers. Despite the loss, Ole Miss got a solid performance out of QB Matt Corral, who passed for three TDs and 251 yards on 27 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 158 yards. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Corral has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season.
Meanwhile, IU bagged a 14-6 win over the Wisconsin Badgers four weeks ago. No one had a standout game offensively for IU, but they got scores from WR Whop Philyor and TE Peyton Hendershot.
Ole Miss is expected to lose this next one by 8.5. Those playing the odds have seen things go back and forth with the Rebels, who are 4-3 against the spread.
Indiana's victory lifted them to 6-1 while Ole Miss' defeat dropped them down to 4-5. Giving up six turnovers, Ole Miss had had trouble holding onto the ball. We'll see if the Hoosiers can exploit that vulnerability.
