Indiana vs. Akron updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Indiana vs. Akron football game
The Akron Zips will head out on the road to face off against the Indiana Hoosiers at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Akron is expected to lose this one by 16 points, a fact the team is no doubt well aware of.
Akron traveled a rocky road last season, and unfortunately for them the road doesn't seem to have gotten any smoother. It's hard to picture a worse loss than the 35-3 bruising that they suffered against Kentucky on Saturday. The last quarter was a mere formality, since it was already 21-3 by the end of the third quarter.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Zips had trouble moving the ball and finished the game with only 239 total yards. That's the fewest total yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Indiana fell 21-14 to Louisville on Saturday.
Indiana's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of RB Jaylin Lucas, who picked up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown, and QB Tayven Jackson who threw for 299 yards and one touchdown. Those 299 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Jackson.
In addition to losing their last games, both Indiana and Akron failed to cover the spread. As mentioned, Indiana is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 16 points. Indiana might be worth a quick bet since they're covered the spread the last three times they've played.
Akron defeat on Saturday dropped their overall record down to 1-2. Indiana's defeat on Saturday dropped their record down to an identical 1-2.
