Georgia Tech vs. Louisville Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Friday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Georgia Tech vs. Louisville football game
Game Recap
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets had a rough outing against the Syracuse Orange two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. The Yellow Jackets had enough points to win and then some against the Louisville Cardinals on Friday, taking their game 46-27. That result was just more of the same for Georgia Tech, who also won the last time these teams played (Oct. 5 of 2018).
QB Jeff Sims had a stellar game for Georgia Tech as he passed for two TDs and 249 yards on 21 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 64 yards. RB Jahmyr Gibbs was in the mix, too, providing Georgia Tech with two touchdowns.
Louisville's loss came about despite a quality game from QB Macale Cunningham, who passed for two TDs and 229 yards on 33 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 50 yards. Cunningham had some trouble finding his footing against the Pittsburgh Panthers two weeks ago, so this was a step in the right direction. Cunningham's sharp performance set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
The victory improved Georgia Tech's record to 1-2. The defeat dropped U of L's record to an identical 1-2.
The Yellow Jackets will play host again and welcome the Clemson Tigers to Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field, where kick-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET next week. The Cardinals are staying on the road next week to face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 2:30 p.m. ET Oct. 17 at Notre Dame Stadium.
