Live scores, highlights and updates from the Georgia Southern vs. Georgia State football game
Game Recap
The Georgia Southern Eagles weren't able to make up for their loss to the Georgia State Panthers from their previous meeting last November. The Eagles took a 21-14 hit to the loss column.
Georgia State's success was spearheaded by the efforts of RB Tucker Gregg, who punched in two rushing touchdowns, and CB Jamyest Williams, who punched in one rushing touchdown. One of those touchdowns came with 0:32 remaining to put the Panthers in the lead for good.
A silver lining for Georgia Southern was the play of RB Logan Wright, who rushed for one TD and 123 yards on 21 carries.
Georgia Southern's defeat pushed them down to 2-6. The win got Georgia State back to even at 4-4.
Georgia Southern will stay at home against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at 6 p.m. ET Nov. 6 at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. Coastal Carolina's offense will need to be on point to get points against the Eagles' defense, which is averaging only 18.5 points allowed per game. The Panthers will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to Cajun Field at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday. They are 2-1 after wins this year, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns 6-0.
