The Georgia Southern Eagles are 1-3 against the Arkansas State Red Wolves since October of 2016, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Eagles and Arkansas State will face off in a Sun Belt battle at 4 p.m. ET at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. The game is expected to be a close one, with Georgia Southern going off at just a 1.5-point favorite.
Georgia Southern came up short against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns last week, falling 28-20.
Arkansas State came within a touchdown against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane last week, but they wound up with a 41-34 loss. No one had a standout game offensively for Arkansas State, but they got scores from WR Jeff Foreman and WR Dahu Green.
The losses bumped both teams down to an identical 1-3. A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: The Eagles are 247th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 14 on the season. The Red Wolves have experienced some passing struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the contest with the 249th most passing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 366.5 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
