Florida State vs. Jacksonville State Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Florida State vs. Jacksonville State football game
Game Recap
After a disappointing 10 points in their last game, the Florida State Seminoles made sure to put some points up on the board against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks Saturday. The Seminoles strolled past Jacksonville State with points to spare, taking the contest 41-24. The win came about thanks to a strong surge after the first quarter to overcome a 14 to nothing deficit.
QB Jordan Travis hadn't helped FSU's cause all that much against the Miami (FL) Hurricanes last week, but the same can't be said for this matchup. FSU Travis was slinging it as he passed for one TD and 210 yards on 18 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 49 yards. RB La'Damian Webb also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
No one had a standout game offensively for Jacksonville State, but QB Zerrick Cooper led the way with one touchdown.
The victory bumped FSU's record up to 0-2. The loss dropped Jacksonville State back to even at 0-0.
The Seminoles will square off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. ET next week at Notre Dame Stadium. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, FSU and Notre Dame will really light up the scoreboard. Jacksonville State will be playing at home against the Mercer Bears at 3 p.m. ET next week.
